The Golf Forest of Ardern has two courses. The Ardern course is one of the UK's premier golf venues and has hosted the English Open for the past three years and is holding the British Masters this year. It measures 7213 yards, par 72 and the 476 yard par 4 9th hole, is one of the toughest on the European tour . With water on the right and woods on the left you have to be accurate off the tee. The signature hole is Tontine the 18th, par 3, 202 yard hole which is a spectacular finish with a huge carry over the fishing lakes from an elevated tee overlooking the resort. The second course, The Aylesford is a smaller parkland course, par 69, 5801 yards. Whilst the smaller brother to the Ardern course it still offers a varied and enjoyable challenge and long hitters will do well on this course which has it's share of tough holes. It's a long way to the 447 yard par 4 2nd and the par 3 10th hole requires a 138 yard carry over water to reach the plateau green. |
