Dining/Facilities
As well as a choice of three bars and a series of charming drawing rooms, The Grove has three very distinctive restaurants. Colette's, the a la carte restaurant that offers modern cooking with a classic twist, with sweeping views over the grounds; The Glasshouse, with fresh ingredients, cooked to order which also has its own wok station allowing you to mix and match ingredients for a stir fry (there's also a kids' buffet at weekends); and The Stables, cosy and relaxed, serving great comfort food.
All food is selected from specialist sources, organic wherever possible and much of the vegetables are grown onsite, under glass in the Walled Garden.
In many ways, the menus are as fresh as the ingredients and are determined by the produce, not the other way round. They're focused on what's in season, not what's in the freezer.
All three main restaurants have a terrace for open-air spring and summer dining.
Golf Facilities
There is a fully functioning informal clubhouse with bar, plasma TV, and open fire with large amounts of seating. There is also a superb driving range and putting green (just outside the clubhouse terrace), both are available to all players. Lessons can be arranged with any one of the PGA professionals. A fully stocked pro shop, situated in The Clubhouse, isn't a typical pro-shop stocking the usual golf gear.
Instead, it is more of a lively golf boutique offering modern leisurewear appealing to all hotel golfers. The Grove's own brand of Italian-made clothing is on show, along with merchandise from the leading international names in golf. Staff are on hand to give expert advice.
General Facilites
The Sequoia Spa
The listed stable block is now home to Sequoia, The Grove's stunning spa. It offers twelve luxurious treatment rooms (and one double for couples.); a purified saltwater vitality pool, private relaxation areas, heat experiences, and health bar. Sequoia also has a large fitness studio, an exercise studio, aswell as a manicure/pedicure and make-up studio. There is a choice of two large swimming pools, a stunning mirror-like mosaic-lined indoor pool (22m x 10m), an outdoor pool (25m x 10m) in the 19th century 3-acre Walled Garden where there are also tennis courts and a croquet lawn.
Outdoor activities
As The Grove is set in 300 acres there is plenty to do apart from just golf. Follow the jogging track as it weaves through woodland and parkland, stop at the marked exercise points, not for a rest, but a work-out. Take one of the mountain-bikes out for a spin or meander along the banks of the Grand Union Canal or investigate the hidden delights within the Walled Garden. Why not put your companion through hoops on the croquet lawn, or serve up an ace or two on one of the tennis courts. Or make a splash in the outdoor pool.
Meetings
Meetings and dining can always be tailored to guests from 5 to 750 people in 23 meeting and conference rooms. Plasma screens, broadband, laptop access, video and satellite conferencing are in all meeting and conference rooms, which open onto private terraces and spectacular formal gardens.
Any level of privacy can be provided, with three separate hotel entrances, rooms opening on to private terraces and the ability to reserve the entire Mansion.
